In a display of military precision and discipline, 711 newly recruited Agniveers of the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) were inducted into the Army at an impressive passing-out parade held at the JAKLI Regimental Centre in Srinagar.

The parade, marked by synchronised drill movements and ceremonial traditions, drew widespread attention as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presided over the event and took the march-past salute.

His presence added significance to the ceremony, which celebrates the culmination of several months of intensive training under the Agnipath recruitment scheme.

Speaking at the event, Abdullah congratulated the young soldiers for completing their training in challenging conditions and praised the Army’s role in shaping disciplined and capable recruits.

He said the induction of a fresh batch of Agniveers would strengthen operational readiness and contribute to peace and stability in the region.

Senior Army officials, instructors, and proud family members witnessed the ceremony, during which the recruits demonstrated their tactical skills, weapon-handling drills, and overall fitness.

Emotional scenes unfolded as parents pinned ranks on their wards during the pipping ceremony that followed. The event concluded with the presentation of awards to outstanding trainees and a reaffirmation of the Army’s commitment to nurturing young talent under the Agnipath scheme.
