Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Northern Command headquarters in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday to assess the Army's operational preparedness, capability enhancement measures and ongoing modernisation efforts, officials said.
According to the Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI), the Army chief was given a comprehensive briefing on multi-domain operations, the induction of advanced technologies, infrastructure development and the level of integrated combat readiness maintained across various operational scenarios.
General Dwivedi interacted with officers from the Northern Command as well as several formation headquarters through a hybrid mode. During the discussions, he underlined the need to effectively leverage emerging technologies and encourage innovation to improve operational efficiency amid an evolving security landscape.
He also reviewed initiatives aimed at boosting combat capabilities and ensuring the force remains prepared to respond to changing security challenges.
The Army chief praised officers and soldiers for their dedication, professionalism and continued commitment to maintaining a high level of operational readiness.

Officials said the visit reflects the Army's continued emphasis on transformation, network-centric operations and data-driven warfare capabilities to further strengthen preparedness and effectiveness on the ground.
