Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd has been conferred the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award (NECA) 2025 for Appliance of the Year in the Stationary Storage Type Electric Water Heater category, recognising its contribution to energy efficiency and sustainability.

The award was presented by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, under the aegis of the Ministry of Power and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

Crompton received the honour for its BEE 5-star rated Storage Water Heater, reaffirming its leadership in the development of energy-efficient consumer appliances. The company had earlier won the NECA in 2023, underscoring its continued excellence in energy conservation initiatives.

Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director and CEO, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“Being recognised once again with the National Energy Conservation Award, especially by the Hon’ble President of India, is a tremendous honour. This recognition reflects Crompton’s continued focus on pioneering energy-efficient innovations that prioritise sustainability without compromising on performance,” Ghosh said.

He added that sustainability at Crompton is viewed as both a responsibility and a driver of innovation. “This award acknowledges the efforts of our teams and reinforces our commitment to advancing sustainable technologies for Indian households,” he said.

Instituted in 1991, the National Energy Conservation Awards recognise outstanding contributions to energy efficiency across sectors and promote the adoption of energy-saving technologies nationwide.

Aligned with the government’s energy-efficiency initiatives, Crompton has introduced a wide range of storage water heaters featuring advanced technology and modern design. The company’s sustainability roadmap spans its entire value chain, including manufacturing, supply chain and product usage.

Key initiatives include carbon footprint assessments, a Design for Sustainability (DfS) programme, and increased adoption of renewable energy at manufacturing facilities, supporting India’s broader climate and energy conservation goals.
