Crude oil price fell by Rs 419 to Rs 8,185 per barrel in the futures trade on Monday amid weak global trends.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil futures for the August delivery slipped by Rs 419, or 4.87 per cent, to Rs 8,185 per barrel in a business turnover of 10,482 lots.

Analysts said the prices fell after participants offloaded their holdings amid weak demand in the spot market.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 5.20 per cent lower at USD 84.67 per barrel, while Brent crude declined 4.98 per cent to USD 91.96 per barrel in New York.
