The Delhi police have suspended an in charge of a police station in an area of North Delhi who was seen violently kicking people offering namaz on the roadside in a viral video posted on X on Friday.

The video of the policeman kicking the Muslims offering namaz on the roadside, who were caught unawares, went viral on social media prompting an outrage and the quick action from the Police.

DCP North Delhi Manoj Kumar Meena told media persons that “Action has been taken against the police officers seen in the viral video. The police station in charge has been suspended. The situation is now normal, and traffic has been restored.”

He said the local people who were protesting against the policeman’s aggression have been counseled and explained that the situation and they have dispersed.

“The local population is with us. The peace and tranquility will be maintained at any cost,” Meena said in while speaking to the media persons and which was posted on X.

The policeman was apparently trying to remove the people praying on the road that is not permissible but his action was illegal and provocative. It generated a lot of traffic on X and people asked Delhi Police to take action against the erring policeman.
