Srinagar
Farooq Abdullah, president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, on Friday expressed hope that the ongoing conflict in West Asia ends soon, linking the shortage of fuel and gas in Indian markets to the crisis.
“The shortage of fuel and gas is due to a war that is going on. Let’s hope and pray that this war ends soon,” Abdullah told reporters at the Hazratbal Shrine.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir was visiting the shrine for Juma’atul Vida prayers.
Abdullah said the disruption caused by the conflict, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route, had affected fuel supplies.
He also said that some forces were trying to destroy Islam and prayed for their defeat.
