Keralam govt allocates portfolios; CM VD Satheesan keeps Finance

Thiruvananthapuram

The Kerala government on Tuesday officially announced the allocation of portfolios among cabinet ministers, with Chief Minister V D Satheesan retaining several major departments, including Finance and infrastructure-related portfolios.

According to the official notification, Satheesan will oversee Finance, Kerala Financial Corporation, Ports, Law, Pollution Control, Airports, Metro Rail and Railways.

Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has been assigned the Home portfolio along with Vigilance, Fire and Rescue Services, Prisons and Coir.

K Muraleedharan will head the Health and Medical Education department, including Ayush, Drugs Control and Devaswoms, while P K Kunhalikutty has been given charge of Industries and Commerce, along with start-ups, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Mining and Geology, and Handlooms and Textiles.

Other key allocations include:

  • Sunny Joseph: Electricity, Environment, Parliamentary Affairs and ANERT.
  • A P Anilkumar: Land Revenue, Survey and Land Records, and Land Reforms.
  • P C Vishnunadh: Tourism and Culture, including the Kerala State Film Development Corporation.
  • M Liju: Co-operation and Excise.
  • Roji M John: Collegiate Education, Technical Education, Universities, NCC and ASAP.
  • T Siddique: Agriculture, Soil Survey and Soil Conservation, Kerala Agricultural University and Warehousing Corporation.
  • K A Thulasi: Development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes.
  • Bindhu Krishna: Labour, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Women and Child Development, and Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.
  • O J Janeesh: Sports, Youth Affairs, Zoos, Archaeology and Museums.
  • N Samsudheen: General Education, Wakf and Hajj Pilgrimage, and Minority Welfare.
  • K M Shaji: Panchayat and Rural Development.
  • P K Basheer: Public Works Department.
  • V E Abdul Gafoor: Fisheries, Harbour Engineering and Social Justice.
  • Mons Joseph: Irrigation.
  • Anoop Jacob: Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology.
  • Shibu Baby John: Forests and Wildlife Protection.
