The State Election Commission (SEC) of Delhi on Sunday implemented extensive and meticulously planned arrangements to ensure smooth, transparent and voter-friendly polling during the MCD Bye-Elections 2025 across 12 wards, the Commission said in an official release.
The SEC deployed a comprehensive framework prioritising accessibility, convenience and integrity, covering logistical preparedness, voter facilitation measures and live monitoring systems.
According to the release, polling remained completely peaceful with no reports of disorder, commotion or technical glitches at any polling station. The electronic voting machines (EVMs) functioned without disruption throughout the day.
A tentative voter turnout of 38.51% was recorded till 5:30 pm. The Commission said the voting process concluded “smoothly and without any untoward incident.”
Reaffirming its commitment to conducting elections with the highest standards of efficiency and inclusivity, the SEC said it ensured that every voter had a safe, accessible and positive polling experience.
Joint Secretary of the State Election Commission Adeshwar Kant said the MCD bypolls progressed seamlessly, with voters casting their ballots in a “hassle-free environment.”
The SEC also highlighted the use of the Nigam Chunaav Delhi app, a new Queue Management System (QMS) for real-time tracking of queues, and 100% webcasting from all 580 polling stations, enabling constant monitoring and swift resolution of minor issues.
“Since morning, our election arrangements have been running very smoothly, and so has the election process. Voters have been casting their votes in a happy atmosphere because we have simplified the election process and provided convenient facilities,” Kant told ANI.
