The Dehradun-Mussoorie road, which had been closed after being damaged during heavy rains, was reopened for light vehicles on Tuesday morning following the removal of debris, officials said.

According to officials, a Public Works Department (PWD) team cleared landslide debris near Kolhukhet, partially reopening the Dehradun-Mussoorie road to traffic. However, the route is currently open only for light vehicles.

Mussoorie Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rahul Anand said that work to restore the road is ongoing but is being hampered by the rain.

He added that if the weather remains favourable, the road is expected to be fully restored by Tuesday night.
