For students deterred by the high cost of pursuing an MBBS degree in private medical colleges in India, the Shaheen Group of Institutions has launched an initiative to facilitate admissions to medical universities in Central Asia, where the cost of education is reportedly 20–25 per cent lower.

Shaheen Group Chairman Dr. Abdul Qadeer said the initiative is part of the institution's commitment to expanding access to quality education among Indian Muslims. Under the programme, meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds will receive guidance and support for admission to reputed medical universities in Central Asian countries.

A key feature of the scheme is regular coaching for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), which foreign-trained medical graduates must clear to practise medicine in India. The coaching will begin from the first year of the medical course itself.

Dr. Qadeer announced that the first 40 students admitted under the programme will be eligible for special scholarships for the 2026 academic session. Depending on their NEET scores, students will receive tuition fee concessions of 25, 50, 75, or 100 per cent. The scholarships will be continued in subsequent years based on the students' annual FMGE performance.

Admissions are currently open at MSIT, Tajikistan, and the University of South Asia, Kyrgyzstan. Dr. Qadeer urged aspiring medical students to register in time and take advantage of the opportunity.

Quran Memorizers Excel in NEET 2026

In another significant achievement, 22 students from Shaheen Pre-University College, Bidar, who had memorised the Holy Quran, performed exceptionally well in NEET 2026.

Congratulating the successful students, Dr. Qadeer said their achievement demonstrates that religious education and modern scientific learning are not mutually exclusive but can effectively complement each other.

"This outstanding performance proves that when students receive quality contemporary education, effective guidance and a conducive learning environment alongside the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, they can excel even in highly competitive national and international examinations," he said.
