The 11th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog commenced on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a focus on charting an inclusive development strategy aimed at achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.
Sharing an update on social media, Prime Minister Modi said he was chairing the Governing Council meeting and emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts between the Centre and states.
"Guided by the spirit of cooperative federalism, we are working together to accelerate India's development journey. The collective efforts of the Centre and States will play a pivotal role in realising our shared vision of Viksit Bharat," he said.
According to an official statement, the meeting is deliberating on an "Inclusive Human Development Framework" built around four key pillars -- developing foundational human capital and future-ready skills, promoting productive employment and entrepreneurship through decentralised growth, improving health and nutrition outcomes, and ensuring equity and dignity for all sections of society.
The Council is also expected to discuss ways to encourage entrepreneurship, strengthen skill development initiatives and generate sustainable employment opportunities across the country.
In addition, members will review recommendations emerging from the fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries, which was held from December 26 to 28, 2025.

The NITI Aayog Governing Council, which comprises chief ministers, lieutenant governors and Union ministers, generally meets once every year. The previous meeting of the Council was held on May 24 last year.
