President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Kalinga Atithi Nivas’ on the Raj Bhavan premises during her two-day visit to Odisha.
The newly built facility will serve as accommodation for visiting VVIPs, and has been designed to reflect Odisha’s ancient art, culture and architectural heritage, an official said.
Welcoming her via a post on X, Governor Kambhampati wrote: “Welcoming the Hon’ble President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu ji, to Odisha today was a moment of deep pride. I convey my respectful greetings and wish her visit to the state to be purposeful and successful.”

Later in the day, President Murmu is scheduled to create history by becoming the first President of India to address the Odisha Legislative Assembly. She hails from Odisha and is also a former member of the state assembly.

Earlier in the morning, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and senior officials received the President at Biju Patnaik International Airport.
