SFI protests in parts of Kerala in support of CJP agitation in Delhi

SFI, the student wing of the CPI(M) on Thursday held protests in parts of the state in support of the CJP agitation in Delhi and the alleged police brutality there against students.

Shouting slogans and carrying the organisation flags, thousands of Students Federation of India (SFI) activists held protests in the state.

At Palakkad and Kasaragod's Kanhangad, SFI activists marched to the head post offices and clashed with the police deployed there to stop them.

Police were deployed in large numbers and had set up barricades to prevent the protestors from entering the post office compund.

In Kanhangad, the protestors jumped over the barricades and entered the post office compund and also clashed with the police, according to visuals on TV channels.

At Palakkad, the SFI activists faced several rounds of water cannons from the police, but refused to withdraw and continued their attempts to jump over the barricades.

They shouted slogans against the Centre and the recent police action against the students and Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) activists in Delhi during the ongoing agitation there against the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam.
