New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid today paid glowing tributes to the former Prime Ministers of India including Jawahar Lal Nehru and Indira Gandhi of Congress while remembering the historic moments in their lifetime as witnessed by the Sansad Bhawan that is seeing the last day of the session of Parliament.

Earlier, Modi told media persons that several decisions in the session that will make India a developed country by 2047 will be taken in the new Parliament building.

The session today will be held in the old Parliament building, and MPs will move into the building on September 19, the second day of the special session.

"At this time, we all are feeling an atmosphere of enthusiasm and a new confidence in the entire country. At the same time, this session of Parliament taking place. This session is short, but in terms of time, it is very big. This is a session of historic decisions. A speciality of this session is that the journey of years is starting from a new destination," he said.

he mentioned Indira Gandhi being feted for bangladesh war, Nehru's "tryst with destiny speech..' Atal Bihar Vajpayee's speech, "Patiries will come and go; leaders will come and go but the nation must remain strong., etc, as being witnessed by this historic building.

Modi said that the achievements of Indians are being discussed everywhere and this is the result of united efforts during the 75 years of the history of the country’s Parliament.  

Prime Minister said India’s ‘Parliamentary journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – achievements, experiences, memories and learnings’ in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said that the success of Chandrayaan-3 has not only made India but the world proud.  

“This has highlighted a new form of India's strength which is connected to technology, science, potential of our scientists, and the strength of the 140 crore people in the country,” he said.

The Prime Minister also referred to the Parliament shifting to the new building on Tuesday, the second day of the Special Session of Parliament, which will continue till September 22.

“All of us are saying goodbye to this historic building. Before independence, this House was the place for the Imperial Legislative Council. After independence, this gained the identity of Parliament House,” he said.

“It is true that the decision to construct this building was taken by foreign rulers but we can never forget and can proudly say that the toil, the hard work, and the money that went into the construction was that of my countrymen," he added.

The Prime Minister also referred to the success of the G20 Summit held in the national capital earlier this month. 

"Today, the achievements of all Indians are being discussed everywhere. This is the result of our united efforts during the 75 years of the history of our Parliament. The success of Chandrayaan-3 has not only made India but the world proud. This has highlighted a new form of India's strength which is connected to technology, science, the potential of our scientists, and the strength of the 140 crore people in the country. Today, I again want to congratulate our scientists," he said.

He said, "Now, while taking forward the journey from a new place, we have to make the country a developed country by 2047. For this, all the decisions will be taken in the New building.”

The Prime Minister further urged all the members to contribute effectively to this session, leaving old problems behind and bringing new goods to this house.

In an emotional speech, Modi said this old building was witness to several speeches and moments in history that have made India into a robust democracy.

"Rone dhone ke liye bahut samay hota hai, karte rahiye. There are a few moments in life that fill you with enthusiasm and faith. I look at this sho session like that," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Tomorrow, on Ganesh Chaturthi, we will move to the new Parliament. Lord Ganesha is also known as 'Vighnaharta’ there will be no obstacles in the development of the country...

“Nirvighna se saare sapne saare sankalp Bharat paripoorn karega...This session of Praising the success of the Chandrayaan 3 mission, said the Prime Minister, “The Shiv Shakti Point has become a new center of inspiration.”

"Chandrayaan-3 has hoisted our Tiranga on the Moon. Shiv Shakti Point has become a new centre of inspiration, and Tiranga Point is filling us with pride. Across the world when such an achievement is made, it is viewed by linking India to modernity, science, and technology. When this capability comes before the world, several opportunities and possibilities knock at the doors of India, the Prime minister said.
