Delhi Police on Thursday apprehended two suspects wanted in the December 2025 murder of two brothers in Jafrabad, northeast Delhi, following a brief exchange of fire, officials said.
The victims, Nadeem and Faizal, were shot dead in a premeditated attack on December 16, when assailants fired approximately 50 rounds after lying in wait for nearly 30 minutes.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Asad Amin (22), a cousin of the victims, and Mohd Danish (34). Police said both are linked to the Hashim Baba gang, and the attack appears to be retaliatory, connected to illegal arms dealings.
Investigations revealed that Danish allegedly planned the killings to avenge information disclosed by Nadeem during a prior probe in August. Danish is believed to have supplied arms to the gang involved in the attack.
Authorities tracked the suspects using sustained manual intelligence and technical surveillance. Acting on specific leads, police laid a trap in the Ghazipur Paper Market area, resulting in an encounter during which both suspects were apprehended and taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police recovered three pistols of different calibres, live cartridges, empty shells, and a scooter allegedly used in the crime, which was linked to a case registered at Jafrabad police station.
Asad is considered a key gang member and had previously been involved in a 2024 firing incident at GTB Hospital. Danish is being treated as the primary conspirator in the double murder case.
