Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday paid floral tributes to Mahavira on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli.

In a post on X, the YSRCP president highlighted the enduring relevance of Mahavira’s teachings, noting that the sage showed humanity the path to a moral and disciplined life.

“Mahavira, who taught the people the five great vows of Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya, and Aparigraha, showed the path to a moral life. The path shown by that great sage is always worthy of practice,” Reddy said, extending greetings to the Jain community.

Several party leaders and community members, including former minister RK Roja and others, were present at the tribute event.

Meanwhile, Droupadi Murmu also extended her greetings on the occasion, urging citizens to build a more compassionate and inclusive society inspired by Mahavira’s principles.

“Lord Mahavir taught the values of non-violence, truth, and self-restraint. Let us strive to build a more sensitive, peaceful, and inclusive society,” she said.

Narendra Modi also conveyed his wishes, stating that the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir continue to guide humanity towards truth, compassion, and equality.
