Bihar topper Shabreen Parveen says women must get a chance

New Delhi

Shabreen Parveen, a resident of Chhaurahi, a small village located in the Chehra Kalan block of Vaishali district, has topped the  Matriculation examination conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board, the results of which were declared on Monday.
 
Shabreen, daughter of a tyre shop owner, secured 492 marks—equivalent to 98.4 per cent top top in the state of Bihar.
 
Speaking with the media, Shabreen said that she too did not believe it when her brother informed her over the phone that she had not only cleared the examination butwas a state topper.
 
She told the media that she was against women being pushed into oblivion through the imposition of purdah. "Everyone, including girls, should get a chance to grow and fulfil their dreams."
 
As soon as the news of Shabreen's success came, an atmosphere of celebration engulfed the village of Chhaurahi. The villagers rejoiced, exchanged sweets with one another, and collectively celebrated this moment of immense pride.

Speaking to the media, Shabreen Parveen said, “I pursued my studies both at school and through YouTube. My brother also provided me with immense assistance in my studies.
 
She is keen to become a doctor and said soon she would start preparing for the NEET examination, required for entry into a Medical college.”.
 
Her father, Mohammad Sajjad Alam, runs a tyre shop in Rampurhat, West Bengal and he is the sole provider for the family.
The eldest of three siblings, Shabreen has been an academically gifted student since childhood and has always harboured dreams of achieving something significant.

Speaking to the media, her father said the family is overjoyed at her daughter's outstanding results.

Shabreen's grandmother who was present when a group of medapersons interviwed her said, her granddaughter had inherited a bright mind from her grandfather . "Saab iske dada ki dain hey." She said Shabreen had learnt Quran by the age of five with her grandfather's guidance.

Pushpanjali Kumari from Simultala in Jamui district also secured 492 marks, jointly topping the examination alongside Shabreen. This serves as proof that, today, daughters are proving their mettle and making their mark in every field.The results were announced by Bihar's Education Minister, Sunil Kumar, in the presence of the Board Chairman, Anand Kishor.

During this announcement, female students demonstrated a stellar performance in the list of toppers—once again proving that with the right guidance and hard work, daughters can scale any height.
