IndiGo on Saturday said it is taking urgent measures to bring its network back to normal after days of widespread disruptions that left travellers stuck at airports across the country.
In a statement, the airline said the number of cancelled flights has now fallen to under 850, a noticeable improvement from previous days. IndiGo urged passengers to check their updated flight status online before heading to the airport and to apply for refunds if their flights were affected.
“IndiGo is making every effort to stabilise operations across the network. Our teams are working on streamlining schedules, minimising delays, and assisting passengers during this challenging period. The cancellations today have dropped significantly compared to yesterday, and we expect further improvement in the coming days,” the airline said.
The carrier added that customer refunds are being processed on priority and that it is coordinating closely with airports and service partners to ensure passengers receive timely notifications both online and at terminals.
Despite these efforts, disruptions remained extensive on Saturday. Data from multiple airports showed heavy cancellations across major hubs.
Hyderabad Airport reported 69 planned cancellations — 26 arrivals and 43 departures.
Delhi Airport saw 86 IndiGo flights cancelled, including 37 departures and 49 arrivals.
Ahmedabad Airport registered 35 cancelled departures and 24 cancelled arrivals.
At Kolkata Airport, 21 arrivals and 20 departures were cancelled for the day, with actual movements as of 9 am recorded at 22 departures and 14 arrivals.
