The BCCI announced the India A squad for two warm-up matches ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Ayush Badoni named captain. Tilak Varma, recently recovered from surgery and part of the senior squad, has also been included.
India A will face the USA on February 2 and Namibia on February 6. Meanwhile, the senior Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will play South Africa in a warm-up on February 4.

India enters the World Cup in strong form, recently winning the T20I series against New Zealand 4-1. In the fifth T20I, Ishan Kishan’s 103 off 43 balls, Suryakumar Yadav’s 63 off 30 balls, and Arshdeep Singh’s five-wicket haul powered India to a 46-run victory, posting 271/5 before bowling New Zealand out for 225.
