World boxing champion Nikhat Zareen presented a pair of gloves signed by all the Indian boxers who participated in the recently held Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A visibly elated Nikhat Zareen posted pictures of the Prime Minister receiving the gift as Youth and Sports minister Anurag Thakur applauds in the backdrop on Twitter and wrote:
Honoured to gift the boxing gloves signed by all the pugilists to our honorable Prime Minister
@narendramodi sir. Thank you for this amazing opportunity. A great day spent with my fellow athletes who have made the country proud.

After winning the Commonwealth Championship in the women's light flyweight category, Nikhat told media persons she would like to get her gloves autographed by the Prime Minister in case she gets a chance to meet him, again. However, she didn't speak if her wish was fulfilled.
In her meeting with Prime Minister after she won the World championship at Istanbul, she made Modi sign on her T-shirt.
Nikhat says meeting Prime Minister energizes her.
After she won the CWG championship, Modi in his congratulatory message had said, “India is proud of her.”
