Abu Dhabi
Five Indian nationals were injured after debris fell near the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi following the interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the injuries ranged from minor to moderate. Officials said the incident occurred after missile fragments landed in the KEZAD area, triggering two fire incidents that were promptly responded to by emergency services.
Authorities urged the public to rely only on official sources for updates and refrain from spreading rumours or unverified information.
The developments come amid escalating regional tensions. In neighbouring Oman, two drones reportedly targeted the port of Salalah, injuring a foreign worker and causing minor infrastructure damage.
Meanwhile, reports also indicated attacks on multiple air bases and an airport in Jordan by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a group of Iran-backed militias, though details on the extent of damage remain unclear.
