People across Goa celebrated Ram Navami with great devotion on Thursday, marking the birth of Lord Rama through prayers, devotional songs, and traditional rituals in temples.

Extending his greetings, Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju urged citizens to promote peace, unity, and prosperity in society.

A large number of devotees visited temples from early morning. In South Goa’s Ponda region, the Shree Ramnath Temple was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, where special pujas and rituals were performed by priests.

In North Goa, the Shri Ram Devasthan Temple witnessed devotees participating in recitations of the Ramayana, along with bhajan sessions and distribution of prasad.

Special religious ceremonies were also organised at the Shree Damodar Temple in Margao, drawing many worshippers.

In his message, the governor described Lord Rama as a symbol of righteousness, compassion, and ideal leadership, often revered as “Maryada Purushottam.” He added that the life of Lord Rama continues to inspire values such as truth, humility, justice, and devotion.
