As India gears up to host the AI Impact Summit 2026 in the national capital next week, Iran has confirmed its participation in the high-profile global event. The country will be represented by its Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Fathali said on Friday.

Ambassador Fathali underlined Tehran’s commitment to technological progress, describing emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence as a national priority. He noted that Iran is keen to deepen scientific and technological partnerships with friendly nations, especially India, in the AI domain.

Iran’s presence at the summit reflects a broader push for international collaboration in cutting-edge technologies and highlights the strategic value both New Delhi and Tehran attach to artificial intelligence as a catalyst for innovation and economic development.

Scheduled from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, the summit will bring together global leaders, policymakers, industry heads and innovators to deliberate on the future of AI. The gathering is expected to serve as a key platform for shaping global frameworks and fostering cross-border cooperation in emerging technologies.

Several prominent international leaders are slated to attend, including Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and French President Emmanuel Macron. Their visits during the summit underline its diplomatic significance and reinforce the growing role of technology partnerships in international relations.
