Khalid Saifullah who once studied in a Madrasa in Patna and become a Hafiz – one who memorizes the Holy Quran - has cleared the NEET examination to qualify for admission into a Medical College and become a doctor in due course.

Saifullah has received his coaching for competing in the national-level medical college entrance examination from Rahmani 30, a Foundation that is working in the field of Muslim education.

Saifullah's father, Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Islam Qasmi of Dobhra Jala locality of Darbhanga, is the Imam of Patna's new Azimabad Mosque.

Saifullah’s success showcases the struggle of a young man to straddle many worlds and also the changing mindset of society in which a young man completes his religious education as well as competes for domains of the mundane world.

While Saifullah’s hard work and dedication are appreciable, people who are privy to the conditions in which most of the Imams have to live, are praising his father’s vision and determination to see his all children become successful persons.

His eldest son is doing his B Tech degree and his daughter is an MBBS student. She joined medical college last year.

Saifullah had joined a regular school only in the seventh grade as his father had initially enrolled him in a Madrasa to become a Hafiz, a memorizer of the Holy Quran. In a way, he was at a disadvantage since his basics in primary education were weak.

He worked hard to overcome his weak points in his education and reached a point where he was at par with other students.
He said it was not easy for him to enter the seventh standard in the school. Khalid Saifullah told Awaz-the voice “I had to work very hard for the initial six months to catch up; this was an important stage and I had no choice but to work hard.”

Saifullah changed his school in the ninth standard. From this point, he never had to look back. He was interested in science since his childhood.

When his sister stepped into the Medical college he had a role model to look up to and only needed to work harder.

He says Rahmani 30 has played an important role in helping him reach his destination. “Where I prepared for NEET, the environment was very positive and pleasant. Best teachers and guides helped me there,” he said.

He also applied for NEET preparation in Aligarh Muslim University along with Rahmani 30. He even cleared the entrance for free coaching in the Aligarh Muslim University. As Rehmani 30 was based in Patna, Saifullah choose it.

Khalid Saifullah told Awaz -the Voice that at Rahmani 30, he experienced the hostel life and learned a lot. “All this is going to help me in the future,” he says. Besides, Saifullah says discipline in life is essential.

In Rahmani 30, Khalid Saifullah was given free coaching and accommodation.

On the success of his children, Maulana Qasmi Sahab says that he aimed at maintaining a balance between religion and the world in the lives of his children. “If you have good intentions, Allah will surely help you.”

Maulana Qasmi says “If I disclose my salary, you will not believe me; but in any case I thank Allah. I used to give tuition to children to meet the expenses of the children's education.”

After that, Allah's help came when her first daughter Shagaf Anjum was preparing for the NEET, a new coaching center PNB had opened at that time. Its owner invited my daughter to enroll herself with his institution.

Maulana Qasmi said he inspired the children to become doctors so that besides doing a job, they would remain in service of humanity and keep the human spirit in their hearts.
