In a major push for Atmanirbhar Bharat and domestic aerospace capability, Adani Airport Holdings has partnered with Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer to establish a regional aircraft manufacturing facility in India. The collaboration also envisions a one-of-its-kind aviation ecosystem, aimed at fostering long-term industrial growth and self-reliance in aviation.

Announcing the partnership, Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings, said, “This is more than a business deal, it is a vision taking flight. Together with Embraer, we will build world-class aviation capabilities in India, redefine the future of domestic aviation, and create an ecosystem that supports industrial growth and high-skilled jobs.”

The venture aligns with India’s goal of reducing dependence on imports and enhancing domestic production under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. It also represents a strategic step in positioning India as a global aviation hub, integrating Embraer’s international expertise with Adani’s growing infrastructure footprint.

Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh noted that the collaboration highlights India’s evolving aerospace and defence industrial strategy, emphasizing partnership, capability building, and long-term strategic alignment. He added that establishing aircraft assembly capabilities domestically will move India up the value chain from a market for aircraft to a producer of advanced aerospace technology.

The partnership is expected to bolster India’s technical prowess in aviation, enhance domestic production of regional aircraft, and generate high-skilled employment opportunities, contributing to both the commercial and defence aerospace sectors.
