Silver prices in Delhi surged by Rs 7,300 on Wednesday, crossing the Rs 2 lakh per kilogram mark for the first time, driven by strong domestic and global demand, the All India Sarafa Association said.
The white metal traded at Rs 2,05,800 per kg, up from the previous close of Rs 1,98,500 per kg. Gold prices also rose, climbing Rs 600 to Rs 1,36,500 per 10 grams from Rs 1,35,900.
Globally, spot gold increased by USD 18.59, or 0.43 per cent, to USD 4,321.06 per ounce. Silver hit a fresh record in overseas markets as well, crossing USD 66 per ounce, rising by USD 2.77, or 4.35 per cent, to USD 66.52 per ounce.

The price surge reflects robust buying interest amid favorable market conditions both in India and abroad.
