After producing hits like Darlings and the 2024 thriller Jigra, Alia Bhatt is back in the producer’s chair with her next project, the coming-of-age romantic comedy Don’t Be Shy. The film is being produced under her banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, along with her sister Shaheen Bhatt, and is co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani.

Prime Video shared the announcement on Instagram on Friday, posting a playful video that captures Alia and Shaheen’s script-selection process. The clip shows the sisters sifting through numerous action film scripts before finally deciding on Don’t Be Shy, highlighting their excitement for the fresh, youthful story.

The film follows Shyamili “Shy” Das, a 20-year-old woman who believes she has her life perfectly mapped out. But as unexpected events unfold, her ideas about love, friendship, and adulthood are challenged, forcing her to navigate the highs and lows of growing up with humor and heart.

Speaking about the project, Alia Bhatt said the story instantly resonated with her team. “This film immediately spoke to us because of its sincerity and coming-of-age lens. Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, Don’t Be Shy promises a heartfelt exploration of young love, friendship, and the journey to self-discovery. The film will stream exclusively on Prime Video, bringing Alia Bhatt’s fresh vision as a producer to audiences worldwide.
