Actress Elizabeth Debicki has hinted at the return of Brad Pitt’s Oscar-winning character Cliff Booth in the upcoming sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, describing the project as an unforgettable experience.
Speaking to People magazine on the sidelines of the Sundance Film Festival, where she attended the premiere of her film Wicker, Debicki said she had recently completed filming the sequel, titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth.
“I’ve just wrapped David Fincher’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel, and it truly felt like a dream project,” Debicki said, adding that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The film follows Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 blockbuster Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with Brad Pitt reprising his role as stuntman Cliff Booth—a performance that earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. While Fincher directs the sequel, Tarantino returns as the screenwriter, according to People.
Debicki said the production was filmed in Los Angeles over nearly six months and praised Fincher’s direction, calling the collaboration deeply rewarding. She also spoke warmly about working alongside Pitt, calling his portrayal of Booth “iconic” and saying the project was a joyful experience throughout.
The film also features Scott Caan, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Carla Gugino, with Netflix expected to release it later in 2026.
Debicki currently stars in Wicker, directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, alongside Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård and Peter Dinklage. She was most recently seen in the second season of The Night Manager.
Reflecting on her career, Debicki said her focus remains on continuing to work with inspiring collaborators, emphasising the importance of surrounding oneself with honest and kind people.
