Mumbai
A snake spotted near Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area caused brief concern among residents and security personnel on Monday morning.
The reptile was seen close to Galaxy Apartments, where the actor lives, prompting locals and building security staff to inform police and forest department officials.
A trained snake rescuer later reached the spot and safely captured the reptile, according to wildlife rescue representatives.
Wildlife expert Pawan Sharma from Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW) said the snake was identified as a rat snake, a non-venomous species commonly found across India.
He explained that rat snakes are known for feeding on rodents such as rats and mice and play an important role in controlling pest populations naturally.

The rescued snake will undergo a routine medical check-up before being released back into its natural habitat, Sharma added.
