Wagner Moura is set to share screen space with Kristen Stewart in the upcoming vampire thriller Flesh of the Gods, as reported by Deadline.
The project will be helmed by filmmaker Panos Cosmatos, with A24 backing its U.S. distribution. Moura steps into the role initially linked to Oscar Isaac, who exited the film due to scheduling conflicts. The film was originally unveiled during the 2024 Cannes Market.
Set against the backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles, the story revolves around a married couple, Raoul and Alex, portrayed by Moura and Stewart. Their seemingly routine lives take a dark turn as they venture into a mysterious nocturnal world. An encounter with an enigmatic woman named Nameless and her circle pulls them deeper into an unsettling and seductive lifestyle.
The screenplay has been penned by Andrew Kevin Walker, based on a story developed with Cosmatos. The film is being produced by Adam McKay, while XYZ Films is handling international sales.
