Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh on Saturday reviewed the progress of the under-construction AIIMS at Majra village in Haryana’s Rewari district and directed officials to ensure that the outpatient department (OPD) becomes operational by March 2026.

During the review, the minister emphasised the need to maintain high construction quality standards and asked authorities to finalise faculty appointments on schedule. He also said that medical academic classes are expected to begin from the next academic session, marking an important step towards the institute becoming fully functional.

Singh additionally reviewed proposals for a railway overbridge near the AIIMS campus and instructed officials to initiate the project at the earliest to improve connectivity.

AIIMS Majra is being developed on 210 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 1,700 crore. The institute will house a 750-bed hospital with facilities on par with other AIIMS institutions across the country.
