Kanwar Yatra, the annual monsoon time pilgrimage in which devotees walk to Haridrwar to fetch the holy Ganga water for offering at a Shiva temple in their hometown, has reached a fag end. The pilgrimage offers scene of human endurance, joyfulness, service and unity of Indians.

Khurram Siddiqui, a Muslim,is not only providing food and water to the pilgrims, but also arranging temporary shelter and medicines for them.

Khurram, along with his team, has built resting places on the highway where the pilgrims rest and get medical help. "Religion is not above humanity. It’s a honour to serve the devotees of Shiva” Khurram says. 

Khurram is not alone. Social media is full of videos of image of many Muslim youth seen serving the Shiva devotees.

These videos have now reached millions of people and are being appreciated a lot on the internet.

In Meerut city of UP, Muslim were seen serving the injured and tired pilgrims.

At Saharanpur, a young devotee was seen carrying 11 liters of Gangajal following the ritual that the urn carrying it must not be placed on the soil till it reaches its destination.

Women are seen throwing turmeric-infused water on the path of pilgrims in their honour and to sooth their injured feet:
