Kedarnath Temple has completely prohibited the use of mobile phones within its premises, according to temple committee member Vineet Posti.
He said the decision was taken to preserve the sanctity of the shrine and improve convenience for devotees. Carrying mobile phones inside the temple complex, taking photographs or videos, and creating reels are now strictly banned. Authorities warned that legal action may be taken against anyone violating the rules.
The temple committee has urged pilgrims to follow the guidelines and maintain religious decorum so that all visitors can have a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling darshan experience.
Meanwhile, the Rudraprayag Police has prepared an extensive traffic management plan for the upcoming Kedarnath Yatra to ensure smooth and safe movement of devotees.
Officials said arrangements are being strengthened from national highways to connecting roads to manage the expected seasonal rush. Police personnel will be stationed at key points to regulate vehicle movement, ease congestion, and maintain orderly traffic flow along the pilgrimage route.
Permanent and temporary parking facilities have also been arranged to reduce traffic pressure and avoid bottlenecks. Authorities said these measures are intended to improve convenience and safety for pilgrims.
Niharika Tomar said a detailed traffic system has been created in coordination with neighbouring districts. According to her, the district has been divided into two super zones and eleven sectors, while thirteen mobile force teams have been deployed. A diversion plan will also be activated if traffic pressure increases.
Officials added that the zoning system will allow better monitoring and faster response to traffic challenges, while mobile teams will help manage real-time situations during peak movement hours.
