The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday suspended Parvinder Kaur Brar, President of Longowal Municipal Council, from the party for alleged anti-party activities. Kamal Brar and Karam Singh Brar were also suspended from primary party membership with immediate effect, according to an official party statement.

Separately, AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj and party leaders staged a protest at Raj Ghat against the BJP over the circulation of a doctored video allegedly showing Delhi Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi making derogatory remarks against Gurus.

A forensic report dated January 9, 2026, confirmed that Atishi did not utter the word “Guru” in the audio clip circulating online. The report noted deliberate manipulation of the video and captions to misrepresent her statements.
