AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami accused the ruling DMK of massive corruption worth Rs 4 lakh crore across various Tamil Nadu government departments over the past 4.5 years. He submitted detailed evidence to Governor RN Ravi, urging the formation of a commission of inquiry led by a retired Supreme Court judge.
Speaking to reporters, Palaniswami alleged governance failures, deteriorating law and order, and excessive borrowing by the DMK. “Except for indulging in corruption, the DMK has done nothing beneficial for the people of Tamil Nadu,” he said, highlighting department-wise complaints and financial mismanagement.
Palaniswami also cited audio clips alleging large-scale looting and questioned fiscal policies, including annual borrowings of Rs 1 lakh crore since the DMK took office in 2021. He called for a high-level judicial probe to investigate the allegations comprehensively.
