Amit Shah greets Nagaland on Statehood Day

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his wishes to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of their Statehood Day on Monday. He said the northeastern state’s rich cultural heritage and the strong spirit of its citizens play an important role in strengthening India’s cultural unity.

Nagaland became the 16th state of India on December 1, 1963, and the day has since been celebrated annually to mark its statehood.

Sharing his greetings on X, Shah wrote that he conveys warm wishes to the “sisters and brothers of Nagaland” and added that the state continues to enrich the nation’s cultural tapestry. He wished peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Nagaland.
