Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated Electrotherm Park, a newly developed public green space spread across 11,600 square metres in South Bopal. The park has been created by Electrotherm (India) Ltd in partnership with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, reflecting a shared vision of sustainable and people-centric urban development.

Conceived as a contemporary and environmentally conscious urban retreat, Electrotherm Park has been designed around the idea of a flowing river, with interconnected zones that encourage movement, relaxation and community interaction. Visitors are welcomed by a thoughtfully designed entrance plaza featuring a fountain and a signature sculpture, setting the stage for a landscape that seamlessly combines beauty with functionality.

A key highlight of the park is a serene water channel that runs parallel to the jogging track, offering walkers and runners a calming experience enhanced by the sound of flowing water. The park also includes two exclusive play zones for children, catering separately to toddlers aged 18 months to six years and older children between seven and 13 years. These areas feature creative play equipment aimed at promoting both physical activity and mental development.

In keeping with an inclusive design philosophy, the park offers a dedicated pet park, an open-air gym, upgraded spaces for traditional games, and modern seating pavilions accessible to visitors of all age groups.

Speaking at the inauguration, Suraj Bhandari, Managing Director of Electrotherm (India) Ltd, said the park has been envisioned as a space that encourages healthier lifestyles while reconnecting people with nature in an urban environment. He expressed gratitude to Amit Shah for inaugurating the project and acknowledged AMC’s support in creating a greener and more vibrant Ahmedabad.

Electrotherm Park is home to over 22,800 plants, including large shade trees, fruit-bearing varieties and flowering species. The transformation of previously unused land has helped create a new microclimate, enhance local biodiversity and offer children an opportunity to learn about agriculture through specially curated orchard areas.

Developed under the leadership of Suraj Bhandari, with key contributions from senior management, the park stands as a symbol of sustainable urban planning, community well-being and responsible corporate partnership.
