New Delhi
On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army on Wednesday reaffirmed its determination to combat terrorism, declaring that any act against India would receive a certain response.
In a post on X, the Army said: “For acts against India, the response is assured. Justice will be served. Always.”
The message was accompanied by a digital poster showing three armed soldiers standing before a red circular backdrop carrying the words “Operation Sindoor Continues...”. The poster also referenced Operation Mahadev, initiated to track down and eliminate those responsible for the massacre.
On April 22 last year, terrorists killed 26 people, most of them tourists, in Pahalgam, an attack that shocked the country and drew widespread international condemnation.
In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor early on May 7, targeting multiple terror facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Soon after the operation began, the Army had posted online saying, “Justice is served. Jai Hind!” alongside the operation’s emblem.
Pakistan later launched military offensives, prompting further Indian counter-actions under Operation Sindoor. The conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours lasted nearly 88 hours before both sides reached an understanding on the evening of May 10.

Senior Indian military leaders have repeatedly said over the past year that Operation Sindoor remains ongoing in strategic terms and that India’s armed forces must maintain a high level of preparedness at all times.
