Mamata Banerjee on Saturday asserted that the BJP would lose power nationally if it continues its alleged attempts to “destroy” West Bengal.

Addressing a poll rally in Raniganj, the Trinamool Congress supremo said her party would return to power in the state for a fourth consecutive term and then work with other parties to challenge the BJP at the Centre.

“If the BJP comes to power in the state, they will use bulldozers and throw everyone out,” she alleged.

Banerjee also accused the Election Commission of acting at the behest of the BJP in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, claiming voter deletions were politically motivated.

“There must be a Lakshman Rekha, but the BJP is crossing all limits. SIR will be your death knell,” she said.

Referring to recent clashes during Ram Navami processions in Murshidabad’s Raghunathganj, Banerjee alleged administrative inaction and said those responsible would be held accountable once her party returns to power.
