K. Kavitha, president of Telangana Jagruthi, on Thursday said she had received a notice from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the alleged Delhi Excise Policy case.
A team of CBI officials visited her residence in Banjara Hills and served the notice related to a petition scheduled for hearing in the Delhi High Court on March 16.
Kavitha said she was consulting her legal team and would respond through official channels while cooperating fully with the investigation.
In a post on X (Twitter), she wrote that she had been served a notice around 12:30 pm informing her of the petition being presented before the High Court.
“I am in consultation with my legal team and will respond appropriately through official channels. As someone who is confident that truth will prevail, I intend to fully cooperate with the legal machinery,” she said, adding that such notices are part of the legal process when an investigating agency files an appeal in a higher court.
Kavitha also referred to an earlier ruling by the Rouse Avenue Court, which had dismissed charges in the case and suggested an inquiry into the investigation officer.
“The CBI approached the Delhi High Court against the Rouse Avenue Court judgment. The CBI officials themselves have informed that the hearing of this case is scheduled for the 16th of this month. We are discussing this matter with our legal team. With truth on my side, I will fully cooperate with the authorities,” she said.
Earlier this week, the Delhi High Court stayed the operation of adverse remarks made against the CBI and the investigating officer in the trial court’s order that had discharged all 23 accused in the case.
Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma also directed the trial court to defer proceedings in the connected case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) until further hearing in the High Court.
The directions were issued while hearing an appeal filed by the CBI challenging the discharge order.
