New Delhi
Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday congratulated Narendra Modi after he became the longest-serving head of government in India, praising his leadership and public service record.
BJP MP V D Sharma said the Prime Minister has “made history” and credited him with improving the lives of the country’s most underprivileged sections.
Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma also lauded Modi’s commitment, noting that his leadership has helped India maintain steady growth despite global challenges, and describing him as a key international figure.
BJP MP Arun Govil expressed similar views, saying the nation is fortunate to have a leader who places national interest above all else.
Modi reached the milestone after surpassing Pawan Kumar Chamling, completing 8,931 days in office across his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime Minister, exceeding Chamling’s record of 8,930 days.
The achievement highlights Modi’s long political journey and continued leadership. He is the first Prime Minister born after Independence and has led his party to three consecutive Lok Sabha victories in 2014, 2019, and 2024.
Alongside his political milestones, Modi has also strengthened his digital presence. He recently crossed 30 million subscribers on YouTube, becoming the most-followed global leader on the platform, with a subscriber base far ahead of figures like Jair Bolsonaro and Donald Trump.
