Sanadar
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday expressed confidence that implementing the circular economy model nationwide will increase dairy farmers’ income by 20 per cent over the next five years.
Speaking at Banas Dairy in Sanadar village, Gujarat, Shah highlighted the dairy’s model of converting cattle dung into biogas and bio-fertiliser, generating additional revenue for farmers. He announced plans for chairpersons and managing directors of major cooperative dairies to visit Banas Dairy in January 2026 to learn from its initiatives.
Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s support, including finance and technology, will help dairies adopt circular economy practices, extending to leather production from naturally deceased cattle. The model forms part of the government’s 'White Revolution 2.0' initiative.
