Annpurna Devi on Tuesday conveyed greetings to civil servants across the country on the occasion of Civil Services Day, praising their role in governance and national development.
In a message shared on X, the minister extended warm wishes to officers serving in different capacities nationwide. She said civil servants play an essential role in achieving the vision of an “Atmanirbhar New India.”
She also acknowledged their contribution to economic growth, public welfare, and the creation of a stronger and more prosperous society. According to her, their dedication toward nation-building remains highly valuable and deserving of recognition.
Civil Services Day is observed every year on April 21 as a day for public administrators to reaffirm their commitment to service and governance.

The date marks the historic address delivered in 1947 by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to probationers of administrative services in Delhi, during which he famously described civil servants as the “steel frame of India.”
