The Rajasthan government has constituted an eight-member inquiry committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the fatal bus accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa district, officials said on Wednesday.
The committee, constituted by Dausa District Collector Saumya Jha, will conduct a detailed investigation into the accident that occurred in the Kolwa area of Bandikui tehsil.
The panel includes the Additional District Magistrate (Lalsot), Additional Superintendent of Police (Dausa), Regional Transport Officer (Dausa), Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Bandikui and Baswa, the Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department and Member Secretary of the District Road Safety Committee, the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dausa, and the officer in charge of the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Dausa.
The district collector has directed the committee to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into all aspects of the incident and submit its findings to the district administration at the earliest.
The tragic accident took place early Wednesday when a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway before catching fire.
According to Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit, eight people lost their lives in the mishap, while 24 others sustained injuries.

Police said six victims were charred to death after the bus was engulfed in flames, while two others succumbed to severe head injuries. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
