New Delhi
The nationwide campaign "Mera Mulk, Meri Pehchaan" (My Nation, My Identity) launched by the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council (AISSC) has now reached southern India. A high-level delegation of the Council recently concluded a two-day tour of Telangana and Karnataka. During the visit, large public gatherings were held across several cities in both states, drawing thousands of participants who pledged to uphold national unity and communal harmony.
The tour was not merely a religious outreach. Its primary objective was to raise awareness about the Constitution of India, national integration, and the spirit of brotherhood among citizens. Major programmes were organised in Hyderabad, Sangareddy, Zaheerabad, and Humnabad in Telangana, while people in Kalaburagi, Aland, and Halkatta in Karnataka also extended a warm welcome to the campaign.
The delegation was led by Hazrat Syed Nasiruddin Chishty, successor to the spiritual head of the Ajmer Dargah and Chairman of the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council. He was accompanied by custodians of several prominent Sufi shrines and eminent Sufi scholars from across India.
Among the delegation were Hazrat Shah Ahmed Ahmed Sahib (Naiyar Mian), Sajjadanashin of the renowned Dargah of Rudauli in Uttar Pradesh, and Habibur Rahman Niazi Sahib, Sajjadanashin of Dargah Mir Ji Ka Bagh in Jaipur.

They were joined by Syed Anjum Farid Sahib, Sajjadanashin of Dargah Ambeta Sharif in Gujarat; Hussain Khan Sahib (Chinnu Baba) from Hyderabad; and Syed Ali Zaki Hussaini Sahib, Karnataka State President of AISSC. The entire programme was coordinated by the Council's National Coordinator, Syed Abdul Qadir Qadri Sahib.
In every city, the Sufi saints received a grand welcome from local residents, youth, and women, who greeted them with flower garlands.
"Mera Mulk, Meri Pehchaan" Is More Than a Slogan—It Is a National Resolve
Addressing public gatherings in Hyderabad, Kalaburagi, and other locations, Hazrat Syed Nasiruddin Chishty delivered a simple yet powerful message. He said that India's greatest strength lies in its unity amidst diversity. Sufi saints, he noted, have always taught love and compassion for humanity.
"Wherever we travel in the world, our identity is that of an Indian—not one defined by religion or caste," he said.
He stressed that "Mera Mulk, Meri Pehchaan" is not merely a slogan but a nationwide movement aimed at preserving and strengthening India's composite Ganga-Jamuni culture. At a time like this, he said, every citizen must uphold the Constitution and work collectively to safeguard the country's unity and integrity.
"Hatred cannot be defeated with hatred. The teachings of the Sufi saints remind us that there is no greater force than love when it comes to uniting society."
— Hazrat Syed Nasiruddin Chishty
Hazrat Shah Ahmed Ahmed Sahib (Naiyar Mian) from Uttar Pradesh and Habibur Rahman Niazi Sahib from Jaipur also addressed the gatherings. The speakers emphasised that the relevance of Sufi thought has grown significantly in the present times. At a time when certain forces seek to divide society, they said, Sufi shrines continue to serve as platforms that bring people together.

The speakers appealed particularly to young people to stay away from hatred and extremism spread through social media or any other medium, and instead contribute positively to the nation's progress.
The campaign covered several important locations across Telangana and Karnataka.
Telangana: Hyderabad (including the historic Charminar area), Sangareddy, Zaheerabad, and Humnabad.
Karnataka: Kalaburagi (the sacred land of Khwaja Banda Nawaz), Aland, and Halkatta.

The programmes at every venue concluded with a special prayer (dua), where Sufi saints and thousands of devotees prayed for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony in the country. Together, they pledged to remain committed to preserving peace and strengthening social harmony across the nation.
