An adult crocodile was rescued after it strayed into a wheat field in Masoodpur village in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, frightening local residents, a forest official said on Monday.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Sarai Chola area when villagers heard rustling sounds from a wheat field and discovered the reptile.

They immediately informed the forest department, after which a rescue team reached the spot and began an operation to capture the animal.
