Crude oil prices fell by Rs 168 to Rs 9,571 per barrel in futures trade on Wednesday amid weak global trends.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil futures for October delivery slipped by Rs 168, or 1.73 per cent, to Rs 9,571 per barrel in a business turnover of 1,288 lots.

Analysts said prices fell after participants offloaded their holdings amid weak demand in the spot market.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 1.11 per cent lower at USD 104.65 per barrel, while Brent crude declined 0.73 per cent to USD 107.96 per barrel in New York.
