Ashish Sood on Tuesday appeared to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal for reduced fuel consumption by choosing public and electric transport during an official visit in the national capital.
As part of his visit to interact with school heads in east Delhi, Sood travelled by the Delhi Metro and later switched to an electric rickshaw after encountering traffic congestion on the way.
During his metro journey, the minister was seen engaging with fellow commuters before continuing his trip by e-rickshaw to reach CM Shri School in Surajmal Vihar, where he was scheduled to hold an interaction programme with school principals and administrators.
Modi had on Sunday, while addressing a rally organised by the Telangana BJP in Hyderabad, urged citizens to reduce dependence on petrol and diesel in view of the continuing crisis in West Asia and the pressure it has placed on India’s foreign exchange reserves.
