Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday said the ruling DMK would shortly initiate seat-sharing discussions with its alliance partners ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state.

Stalin, who is also the president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), said a committee would soon be constituted to formally begin the talks.

Responding to queries from reporters on the timeline for alliance negotiations, the chief minister said, “A committee will be formed soon to hold the seat-sharing talks.”

During a brief interaction with the media at a government function held in his Kolathur constituency here, Stalin struck a conciliatory note when asked about his political rivals.

“I do not view anyone as an enemy. I see everyone as friends,” he said.

Commenting on the Union Budget for 2026–27, Stalin reiterated his criticism, describing it as deeply disappointing.

“I have already said this earlier. There is nothing but disappointment. We had hoped for some changes, but there were none,” he said.

Asked about his focus in the election year, the chief minister said the people would respond decisively. “The people will teach a lesson,” he said, referring to the BJP.

Earlier in the day, Stalin inaugurated a multi-storeyed healthcare facility in Kolathur constructed at a cost of Rs 11.74 crore by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.

The building includes a blood purification unit, dialysis centre, physiotherapy facilities and an artificial limb centre, along with other patient care services.

He also inaugurated six ration shops located within the same complex.

In addition, Stalin opened a newly developed park near the Kolathur lake, aimed at providing recreational amenities for local residents.
