Hyderabad,
AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday said that while every Indian desires normal and peaceful relations with China, such engagement cannot come at the cost of India’s core national interests.
In a post on social media platform X, Owaisi said that Indian priorities must remain central in any effort to normalise ties with Beijing. He cautioned that compromising on national interests in the pursuit of diplomatic normalcy would be “disastrous,” reiterating what he described as his consistent stance on the issue.
In another post, he alleged that China expects India to set aside the border dispute while moving towards improved relations, but has not shown reciprocal willingness to address outstanding concerns.
Owaisi further claimed that China continues to extend operational military support to Pakistan and has also declined to share crucial hydrological data on the Brahmaputra river with India.

He questioned India’s approach, saying concessions were being made by New Delhi, including consideration of an early resolution of border issues, without adequate justification or transparency from the government.
